First of all let me tell you Malaysia is “The” place to go!!!
It’s absolutely beautiful, no Halal issue, and so cheap that I found myself tipping everyone generously.
I opted for Malindo Airline from Lahore, Pakistan. The travel time is 6 hours from Lahore.
Tickets are fairly affordable but if you book last minute as I did you might get higher rates as much as PKR 65,000. Normal days you can even find fare between PKR 30-40K.
Malaysian immigration is fairly easy and once you reach, first thing I did was to buy a sim card from the airport, they offer you packages depending on your stay. Since mine wasn’t long, I opted for a week package for 50 ringgit.
Next I called for Uber, and I was surprised to see a female driver, a very young and sweet one and we had a fun ride. The drive from the airport to my hotel was 1 hour, which because of early rush hour extended to 2.5 hours.
The way from airport to the city was beautiful; pine forests surround the whole of Malaysia and are breathtaking.
My hotel was situated in Berjaya square which is a perfect place to be!! Right in the middle of everything.
Places to visit
Petronas Towers and KLCC Mall is huge and will take your whole day but not to be missed.
KL Bird Park is a must!!
It gives you a feel of Jurassic Park. Don’t miss out on taking a special picture with all the beautiful colorful parrots. Cost is 150 ringgit with a print out in a frame.
Sunway Lagoon if you are into Water Park and rides.
If you are into branded shopping Pavilion KL is the place to be with very interesting Chinese food court and cinema
Bukit Bintang is the shopping and entertainment district of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is a great option for all the yummy food and cuisines.
If you have some time you might want to hit Shah Alam too.
I-City that has a Madame Tussaud’s Museum, Snow walk that has -5 temperature inside with snow slides and activities, 3D art museum and a lot more fun rides and activities for kids and adults. But the place is best to be visited during the night.
Genting highlands is another main attraction of KL with a lot of greens surrounding and chair lifts etc
And if you can make it to French village it’s totally worth it and much cooler and beautiful in European style.
Don’t miss out on amazing food especially Nasi Lemak Malaysian cuisine.
It’s best to download Uber app or Grab app it’s very cheap and useful. Taxis are not recommended.
I did not visit any clubs but one interesting fact that was shared with me by an Uber driver that Thursday nights are free entry for girls.
